Who is Cheryl Hewes
First and foremost, I am a mother and a grandmother - so never in a million years did I think I would be running for political office.
I spent 15 years teaching children in a private school setting; and I am proud to say that I had a small part in teaching them to become successful adults.
But I am so very concerned about the direction our state has taken. I am concerned that parents are losing their authority over their own children; and I am worried about the future of my grandchildren and yours.
Maine has been my lifelong home. I love Maine and the beauty it offers. But mostly, I love the people of Maine. We are a strong people with a reputation for our hard work and our perseverance.
We are a community that isn’t afraid to care for one another. We are a community that loves our children. We are a community that wants our children to enjoy the same freedoms we have enjoyed.
But I fear that we are losing our wonderful State and our beautiful Maine spirit. Please join me to give our children the same Maine experience that made us that beautiful people!

- In 2023, Some estimates suggest that Maine taxpayers spent an estimated $90.4 Million in TOTAL illegal immigration costs
- In 2023, there were 62 Asylees and 419 refugees in Maine!
- The office of Maine Refugee Services is expecting 840 new refugees in 2024!
